Ziigmund loses $300k to Daniel ‘jungleman12′ Cates

Ilari 'Ziigmund' SahamiesIt has been a rollercoaster year for Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies. He began the year great and was on top of the yearly profit leaderboard however recently his luck has changed and sent him on a downhill spiral, with things getting even worse for him last night on Full Tilt Poker.

Ziigmund took on Cardrunners instructor Daniel ‘jungleman12′ Cates at the $200/$400 Pot-Limit Omaha tables. Jungleman12 is relatively new to PLO and has played several sessions recently against David Benefield and others, however No-Limit Hold’em is by far his strongest game. In contrast Ziigmund is a PLO specialist and it is the game which has helped him build a bankroll worth millions so it was expected he would have no trouble against jungleman12.

The session between the two players lasted for 300 hands and at the end jungleman12 found himself with a massive profit of $301k.

Things continued to get worse for Ziigmund as he took on Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond and Phil Ivey losing a total of $200k, bringing his total losses for the day to $501k.

Just days ago we reported that Ziigmund won $113k and it seemed his luck was about to turn around however it now seems he could end up the years biggest loser. This week has saw the Finnish star lose over $700k on Full Tilt, which brings his total losses for the year to $1.2million. Jungleman12 is on the other end of the spectrum however, now jumping above Tom’durrrr’ Dwan to hold number one spot for the most profit for the year with $4.5million.

You can find Ziigmund playing on Full Tilt Poker and PowerPoker. New players on PowerPoker will receive a 110% up to $600 poker bonus by using PowerPoker bonus code PAK555 when depositing.
