Vadim Shlez Wins Borgata Winter Open 2025
The Borgata Winter Open hosts 26 varied events and this year’s Main Event has been won by Vadim Shlez. Vadim Shlez hails from Manapalan, New Jersey and the end of the Borgata Winter Open brought his first win of a major event. Up until this impressive win, Shlez’s most memorable achievement was at the WSOP Main Event in 2025, when he managed to win $125,000 after finishing in 71st place.
The Borgata Winter Open championship was held at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. Entry to the Championship main event was with a buy-in of $3,500. Ten players reached the final table of this event at which Vadim Shlez emerged victorious. In winning the title, he also won the attractive amount of $533,210.
The Borgata Winter Open Main Event attracted 718 contestants and this produced a prize pool of more than $2,000,000. The final table of this event began with Shlez as the chip leader.
The first player to leave the final table was Tom Hu, with winnings of $28,729. The next player to be knocked out was Allan Vrooman and he left with prize winnings of $43,669. In 8th place and with $63,204 in prize winnings was Osagyefo Greene. The next player to be eliminated from the contest was Steve Ryan who finished in 7th place and with $82,740 in prize money. Sixth place was taken by Pat Carney who won just over $100,000. Gil Sacks finished his participation in the event in 5th place and won $126,407. In fourth place came Bobby Suer who won $156,286 in prize money. Trevor Savage came close but was not close enough and finished in 3rd place with $189,611.
The tournament’s heads-up took place between Vadim Shlez and L.J. Sande and this final battle began with 17 million chips to Shlez in comparison to Sande’s 4.5 million.
Sande finished as runner up and with prize winnings of an impressive $310,273, while Shlez earned more than half a million dollars upon winning the event and title.
The next large poker live event scheduled to be held at the Borgata Casino is due to be this summer when poker players from different places around the globe may join in the action at the Borgata Summer Open 2025.
