Isildur1 Leading WSOPE 2025 Main Event?

Viktor BlomSwedish poker superstar Viktor Blom has taken the 2025 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event by storm and finished Day 2 of the event as chip leader with other notable players still in contention including Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Freddy Deeb, JP Kelly (who recently finished 2nd in WSOPE Event 3) and many others.

The event had a buy-in of £10,350 which attracted 346 players (up from last years number of entrants which was 334 players) to create a prize pool of £3,460,000 and first place prize is £830,401. Of the 346 entrants only 69 players remain and all of them will be hoping they can make it to the money by placing in the top 36, however the honor of being crowned WSOPE Main Event champion for 2025 will be much more satisfying than the money, especially for players such as Phil Ivey.

Here are the top ten chip leaders heading into Day 3 of the Main Event:

1st - Viktor Blom – 443,200
2nd - Bojan Gledovic – 442,300
3rd - Darren Woods – 372,500
4th - Andrew Pantling – 344,000
5th - David Peters – 309,300
6th - Phil Ivey – 289,300
7th - Arnaud Mattern – 280,900
8th - Nicolas Levi – 272,300
9th - Dan Fleyshman – 269,000
10th - Brian Powell – 266,100

So is Viktor Blom really Isildur1?

Well almost everyone in the poker world is certain that Blom is Isildur1 however he has been avoiding interviews at the WSOPE Main Event and has neither confirmed or denied that he is the mystery player. Recently we wrote and article asking three questions:

A reason many believe Blom has avoided the limelight is due to the tax issues for poker in Sweden. If Blom really is Isildur1 then it is quite remarkable how a 20-year old has been playing poker for such staggering amounts of money. At one point he was up almost $7 million on Full Tilt Poker with around $4 million of that coming exclusively from Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, but his rampage came to an end soon after he lost over $4 million in just one session to Cardrunners instructor Brian Hastings.

Stay tuned for more poker news from the 2025 WSOPE to see if Viktor Blom can make the final table of the event, possibly with Mr Phil Ivey!
