This award was another tough one to decided with a lot of stiff competition. WSOPE champion James Bord beat the likes of Jake Cody, Liv Boeree and Fillipo Candio among others to win this award. One of the deciding factors was probably the fact that the WSOPE is considered to be one of the toughest live tournaments with no soft tables, hence his nomination for this award.
Europe's Leading Lady – Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree was well deserving of this award. After taking down the EPT San Remo event, it was the largest live tournament won by a female player in 2025, which put here in a great position to win this award. Gerard Serra Retamero of TK Events won this award. The award was designed to highlight the behind the scene efforts that have made poker better. Gerard was recognized as one of the hardest working individuals on the EPT tour and played a huge role in the Spanish Poker Tour.
Rob Gardner Memorial Award for the Poker Personality of 2025 – Tony G
PokerNews founder Tony G won this award. Love him or hate him, there is a lot to like about him, and he has a great personality for TV. While the exposure he gets is not always related to playing poker, it goes without saying that Tony had an extremely busy 2025. The year saw him play the fearless Swede cash game pro "Isildur1" in the SuperStar Showdown, playing one of the sickest TV hands of the year on the The Big Game, when his full house lost to Vanessa Rousso’s bigger full house, as well as bidding on Peter Eastgate’s 2025 WSOP bracelet.
Player of the Year – Jake Cody
Jake Cody, who was named the rookie of the year, was also crowned player of the year. It was well deserving as his results on the poker circuit were nothing short of phenomenal. He won a WPT and EPT title and earned more then $1.6 million in his debut year.
Lifetime achievement award – Nic Szeremeta
Nic Szeremeta won this award. It’s the first time a poker media ambassador received it instead of a player.
