15 New Team PokerStars Online Pros Revealed

PokerStarsLast week PokerStars welcomed 15 new online pros to Team PokerStars Online, after receiving more than 4,500 applications this year. The 15 new members comprise from eleven countries, including online tournament grinders such as Shane “shaniac” Schleger, Mer “PeachyMer” Brit, Clayton “cnew27” Newman, and Andrew “foucault82” Brokos.

Shane “shaniac” Schleger is an online tournament grinder that has been on the online circuit for a while. Some of his recent achievements include recently taking down the PokerStars $109 Rebuy event for $76,091. With $2 million in online tournament earnings online, he has also had decent success on the live tournament circuit, adding more than $1 million in lifetime career live tournament earnings.

Mer “PeachyMer” Brit is another hugely successful online tournament grinder, and happens to be the only female welcomed to Team PokerStars Online this year. Her best online result was when she placed second in the PokerStars 2007 WCOOP $320 event, which added $98,553 to her bankroll. She also placed ninth in the 2009 WCOOP Main Event, taking home $96,480.

Card Player blogger Andrew “foucault82” Brokos also joined the team, some players may know him from the deep run he made in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. He is also a regular on the 2+2 forums. In terms of his online tournament results, he final tabled a WCOOP event and won numerous other tournaments on PokerStars.

Brokos commented about his addition to the team on his blog: “I can honestly say that it an honor to represent PokerStars. Not only do they offer the best games and the best customer service of any site I’ve ever played on, but they are by far the most trustworthy and upstanding. To the Poker Ethicist, that stuff is important.”

Jorge “Baalim” Limon, who is from Mexico, also joined the elite Online Team. Interestingly, he was a former race car driver but decided he would become a professional poker player. Unlike most of the other players, Limon is primarily a cash game player, playing No Limit Hold’em in stakes of $3/$6 and greater.
