Full Tilt Poker sign Jackie Glazier

Jackie GlazierFull Tilt Poker have anounced that Jackie Glazier has made history by becoming Australia’s first female player to become a Team Full Tilt Red Pro.

Her background includes being an excellent junior tennis player, travelling to the USA as a 17-year old. After spending four years studying at university and becoming a qualified mathematics teacher, she decided teaching wasn’t challenging enough, and a few years ago discovered her passion for poker while playing at home games with friends.

Undoubtedly her mathematical background helped her game, and in only a few short years Glazier has become one of Australia’s finest and most recognized female tournament poker players, amassing around $107,678 in live tournament earnings.

While Glazier’s tournament results have exponentially been getting better, 2010 was easily the best year for her with $89,275 in winnings. Last year Glazier made her two biggest cashes to date, most notably for cashing at the 2010 WSOP Main Event, finishing in 427th place for $31,647, as well as outlasting all but 2 other female players in the WSOP ME that year. The following month, Jackie then took down the $1k ANZPT Melbourne for $36,390. The same year also saw Glazier make a deep run at the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event.

Considering that this Melbourne girl has only been taking poker seriously since 2008, and started playing tournament poker on a full-time basis since December 2009, this is a remarkable achievement.

In addition to adding some big titles to her poker resume, Jackie Glazier is also looking to take this opportunity to become a poker ambassador, in an attempt to inspire more women to take up the game. She also said on Twitter: “Finally win my first t-shirt on Full Tilt for busting out a pro.” and mentioned that she has changed her favourite colour to red, which hardly seems surprising.

With consistent live tournament results and her ability to achieve so much in such a short period of time, it goes without saying that Jackie Glazier has a huge amount of potential and can hold her own in what is a male dominated game. What is in store in the future for Jackie Glazier at her new home at Full Tilt as a Red Pro is definitely promising, and we wish her all the best.
